>> UNIFORMS FOR JUNIOR PLAYERS
From Season 1, 2024, all junior players will be required to purchase a reversible club singlet and playing shorts, at a one-off cost of $95. Please email [email protected] if you need to purchase a club uniform. We will have people on hand to purchase in the first few weeks of the Season. If your uniform still fits you from previous season you will not need to purchase a new uniform. These uniforms belong to you and can continue to be used in future seasons. The singlets have a reversible dark/light side and will be individually numbered. The playing shorts and singlets have been designed to meet Basketball Queensland uniform standards.

>> MERCY RULE
Junior basketball is about participation and enjoyment for all players. To help keep situations of team dominance at a minimum, the mercy rule (defensive restriction) shall apply to Division 3 Boys and Division 2 Girls in our domestic junior competitions.

- The defence is required to drop back to behind the half way line whenever the opposition gain possession, from an inbound or field play, if they have a lead of 20 or more points.
- In games where zone is permitted, the leading team shall use a man to man defence inside the half court line, not a zone.
- Scoretable officials shall notify the coach and referees when the mercy rule needs to be applied.
- Referees may give two warnings to a team for a mercy rule violation. Following such warnings, any repeat offending from that team during a game shall result in the referees calling a violation. Penalty 1 foul shot and ball back for a throw-in.
- If the margin between the two teams returns to within 20 points, the mercy rule shall no longer apply.
- The mercy rule is not applicable during any semi, preliminary or grand final games.
